Summer is in full swing here in the Okemo Valley, and July is packing a punch with incredible live music, family-friendly gatherings, and classic Vermont celebrations. Whether you are a local resident looking to map out your month or a visitor planning the perfect New England getaway, there is no better place to experience peak summer charm than right here in our backyard.

 

• Independence Day Fireworks & Music at Okemo Mountain

  • When: Saturday, July 4

  • Where: Okemo Mountain Base Area, Ludlow

  • What to expect: Gather the family for an evening filled with great live music, local food options, and an incredible fireworks display illuminating the mountain sky. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the long holiday weekend.

• Lake Rescue Association 23rd Annual Picnic

  • When: Saturday, July 4

  • Where: Camp Plymouth State Park, Ludlow

  • What to expect: Looking for a classic community lakeside afternoon? Celebrate the 4th with the Lake Rescue Association at beautiful Camp Plymouth State Park. It's a fantastic afternoon of food, community spirit, and beautiful lake views—fun for both locals and visitors alike.

• Jackson Gore Summer Music Series

  • When: Every Friday Night (July 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31)

  • Where: Jackson Gore Courtyard at Okemo, Ludlow

  • What to expect: A staple of Okemo Valley summers! The Jackson Gore Summer Music Series returns with free, live music every single Friday night. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the lively mountain courtyard atmosphere, complete with fresh local food options and drinks.

• Frendly Gathering 2026

  • When: July 17 – 19

  • Where: Timber Ridge in Windham

  • What to expect: If you are a fan of grassroots music, inclusive culture, and mountain vibes, this multi-day festival is for you. True to its name, Frendly Gathering offers an intimate, highly welcoming festival experience packed with live bands, workshops, skateboarding, and camping.

• Ludlow Farmers Market

  • When: Every Sunday (July 5, 12, 19, & 26)

  • Where: Depot Street, Ludlow

  • What to expect: Spend your Sunday morning strolling through downtown Ludlow and supporting local agriculture. The market is packed with a vibrant selection of freshly harvested produce, artisanal Vermont cheeses, baked goods, handcrafted beverages, and unique items from regional crafters. It's the ultimate way to stock up for the week while soaking in the local community vibe.

• VSO Summer Festival Tour: America 250

  • When: Friday, July 3

  • Where: Grafton Trails & Outdoor Center, Grafton

  • What to expect: As part of the nation's 250th-anniversary celebrations, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra is bringing an unforgettable night of patriotic and classical music to Grafton. Bring a picnic blanket, lay back under the stars, and let the soaring melodies move you.

• Sips & Sizzle BBQ Series

  • ​When: Every Thursday (July 2, 9, 16, 23, & 30)

  • Where: Calcuttas, Ludlow

  • What to expect: They will be having a BBQ on the patio following each day they feature “The Sips” with a rotating schedule of beer & spirits brands. Spirits brands from 2pm-5pm(ish) and then BBQ from 5pm-7pm! They will feature a rotating outdoor BBQ menu of Burgers, Dogs/Brats, and Pasta Salads!

• Summit Yoga

  • ​When: Every Saturday (July 4, 11, 18, & 25)

  • Where: Sunburst Chair, Okemo Mountain

  • What to expect: Your experience begins with a scenic chairlift ride to the summit. The class is BYOM (Bring your own mat). Limited Space Available. Call 802-228-1419 to rserve your spot in advance or purchase tickets at the Sunburst ticket window (opens at 8:30 am). Cost: $20 for yoga class + $16 for scenic lift (26-27 Epic Pass Holders ride free!

• West River Farmers Market

  • When: Every Saturday in July (July 4, 11, 18, & 25)

  • Where: Williams Park (Junction of Route 11 & Route 100), Londonderry

  • What to expect: One of the oldest, largest, and most scenic open-air markets in Vermont! Nestled right along the West River, this bustling community gathering features over 40 local vendors each week. • Tygart Mountain Sports Annual Tent Sale

  • When: July 3 – 5

• Terra Farm & Wine Dinner Series

  • When: Saturday, July 25

  • Where: Terra Italian Steakhouse, Ludlow

  • What to expect: Indulge in an exquisite, upscale culinary experience that celebrates peak summer in Vermont. Hosted by Terra Italian Steakhouse, this exclusive evening features a thoughtfully crafted five-course menu curated by Executive Chef Isac Richard. Every dish highlights hyper-local, seasonal ingredients sourced directly from their own Four Square Farms (nestled right within the Fox Run Golf Club) as well as other premier regional purveyors. • Music Mondays at Pingree Park

  • When: Select Mondays in July (July 6 & July 20)

  • Where: Pingree Park, Londonderry

  • What to expect: Beat the Monday blues with a fantastic, free outdoor concert series perfect for the whole family! Organized by Mountain Towns Recreation, Music Mondays bring the community together for laid-back evenings of great tunes and outdoor fun. Pack your favorite picnic basket, grab your lawn chairs or blankets, and relax on the grass while enjoying live regional talent.

• Proctorsville Market on the Green

  • When: Every Friday afternoon (July 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31)

  • Where: Proctorsville Green, Town of Cavendish

  • What to expect: Join Friday afternoons as the village green comes alive with fresh food, handmade goods, music, and connection. 
    The market on the green is hosted informally by individual vendors, and the space (the village green) is generously made available by the Town of Proctorsville / Cavendish, Vermont, as a way to support local small businesses and foster community connection.
