In this exclusive interview, we sit down with the team behind the fields to discuss their highly coveted Flower Lover Club—a seasonal flower CSA designed to make locally grown flowers accessible, sustainable, and personal. What is the Flower Lover Club all about, and what inspired you to launch it?

The Flower Lover Club is our seasonal flower subscription, also known as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). It gives local flower lovers the opportunity to purchase a share of the flowers we grow. Throughout each season, members receive beautifully arranged bouquets filled with our fresh, field-grown specialty cut flowers.

One of the biggest inspirations for launching the Flower Lover Club was making locally grown flowers more accessible. We believe flowers have a way of bringing joy to everyday life, and we wanted to share that experience with as many people as possible while connecting our community to the beauty of seasonal, locally grown blooms.

How do members choose their shares?

Members can choose the season that works best for them—or bundle multiple seasons and save! We offer three seasonal shares throughout the year.

• Spring Share: May 14 – June 18 ($150 + tax)
• Summer Share: July 9 – September 3 ($175 + tax)
• Autumn Share: September 10 – October 22 ($150 + tax)

Our Spring Share has wrapped up for the season, but there are still spots available in our Summer and Autumn shares.

 

What can members expect to see in their bouquets as the seasons shift?

One of the best parts of joining a flower CSA is experiencing the changing seasons through flowers. Every bouquet reflects what's naturally blooming in our fields that week, so no two are exactly alike.

Spring bouquets are filled with delicate favorites like tulips, ranunculus, anemones, snapdragons, and fragrant blooms. Summer brings vibrant dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, lisianthus, and sunflowers, while autumn bouquets feature rich colors, dahlias, grasses, unique seed pods, and other seasonal textures. Members get to enjoy the freshest flowers at their peak while experiencing the beauty of each season.

How and where can members get their hands on their weekly bouquets?

Members can choose the option that fits their lifestyle best: pickup or delivery.

We offer convenient Thursday pickup locations throughout the area:

• Blume Vermont Farm: 4:00–7:00 p.m.
• Brownsville Butcher: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Singleton's General Store: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Killington Welcome Center: 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Superette, Manchester: 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Woodstock Farmers Market: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Wallingford pickup location coming soon!

For the ultimate convenience, members can also have their bouquets delivered right to their doorstep for just $7 per week.

 

For someone who has never been part of a flower CSA before, how does it differ from buying a grocery store bouquet?

Joining our Flower Lover Club is about so much more than bringing home beautiful flowers, it’s about directly supporting a local farm and the way we grow.

Many grocery store bouquets, and even flowers sold through many florists, are imported from overseas. They often travel thousands of miles, are treated with chemicals to withstand shipping, and leave behind a significant environmental footprint.

Our flowers are different. They're grown right here in our fields using sustainable, organic-minded growing practices. Every stem is planted, harvested, and arranged by people who care for it from seed to bouquet, and most of our flowers travel less than 50 miles before reaching our members.

Because memberships are purchased upfront, there's no need to shop each week. Members simply enjoy fresh, seasonal bouquets delivered to their door or waiting for them at their chosen pickup location.

You mentioned spots are limited because these are "grown with love, not mass-produced." Can you tell us a bit about your sustainable farming practices?

Everything we grow is rooted in caring for the land as much as the flowers. We use sustainable, organic-minded growing practices that focus on building healthy soil, encouraging biodiversity, and working with the seasons rather than against them. Because we grow on a smaller scale, every plant receives hands-on attention throughout the season, from planting and harvesting to arranging each bouquet.

Unlike mass-produced flowers that are shipped across the globe, our blooms are grown close to home and harvested at peak freshness, which means they're better for the environment and last longer in the vase. Growing this way naturally limits how many bouquets we can offer, but it also ensures every share is filled with flowers we're truly proud of.
