When you think about Okemo Mountain, you probably think about a glorious winter resort with endless activities from skiing and snowboarding to ice skating and snow tubing. Of course, this ski mountain is famous for its excellent terrain, snowmaking, and grooming, but all of those accolades gloss over the fact that Okemo is truly a four-season resort. When the last chairlift spins and the final spots of snow melt, Okemo is quickly transformed into a full-out summer playground. It might sound like an overstatement, but there are probably more activities and events in the summer season than in the winter! Don't get us wrong, nothing beats a ski day on these slopes, but summer at Okemo is a must-do.
The summer season begins on Saturday, June 17th, so get ready to make a trip to the Green Mountains so you can explore all of the fun-filled options. Here's a rundown of all of the activities and events happening this summer!
Okemo's Bike Park: Welcome to Okemo's lift-served downhill bike park and camps. The park will operate from the Sugarhouse Lodge with a variety of progressive terrain, offering lower mountain access served by the South Ridge Quad A lift. Please note: Due to the ongoing lift improvement project this summer, the summit trails Scrambler and Shake and Bake will not be open. There will be no lift service for mountain bikes to the summit this season.
Jackson Gore Summer Music Series: Back for another season, the Jackson Gore courtyard turns into an outdoor concert venue every Friday this summer from 6 to 9 p.m. The first concert is on Friday, June 30th! We are proud to sponsor this community event and we hope to see you at our tent this year to enter our weekly raffle! This free concert series features popular local bands, cold drinks, and a pop-up quick-service food stand by Okemo! Check out our Instagram or Facebook for the 2023 concert lineup at @raveisokemo.
Timber Ripper Mountian Coaster: The Adventure Zone is home to many activities, but one of them takes the cake. This exhilarating mountain coaster twists and turns through Jackson Gore's trails and operates all year long. With room for two, it's the perfect activity for a couple or for adults to bring along an adventurous kiddo. You'll have control of the speed in the sled while making your way down the mountain. This is a must-try activity in our opinion!
Scenic Chairlift Rides: There's nothing more exciting for a skier or rider than riding down a chairlift backward! Okemo's Sunburst Six turns into a summer activity offering scenic rides to the summit and back. The views are endless on the way down, offering a new perspective of the valley. Feeling adventurous? Hike down the designated trails instead of the lift! Plus, the ride is free if you have a 2023/2024 season pass!
Haulback Challenge Course: Have some thrill junkies in your group? Be sure to book a day at the ropes course in the trees with three different levels of difficulty. Along this aerial journey from one tree to another, you will encounter a variety of challenges such as the Seesaw, Barrel Crawl, Burma Bridge, Big Foot Platform, Indiana Jones Bridge, and more!
Taps & Tastes: Save the date for another year of Taps & Tastes, Okemo's one-day beer festival on Saturday, August 5th. We are proud to sponsor this lively event again this year and hope you'll stop by our tent to say hello to our team. The Jackson Gore courtyard will transform into an outdoor festival space with stages for live bands, countless beer tents, food trucks, cold drinks, and lots of delicious food options from Okemo. For more information visit www.okemo.com.
Lumberin' Cal Mini Golf: Everyone loves mini golf! Come explore this 18-hole course that features the adventures and legends of Ludlow. You'll see some familiar sculptures along the way like the Fire Tower and The Mill. This course offers multiple paths for a choose-your-own-adventure kind of round. Did you know that the course designer used their unique concept of “intentional luck" when making this course? This concept enables children and less-skilled players to score as well as adults... and often better. Have fun!
The Maples Disc Golf: Not into mini golf? Try disc golf instead! Jackson Gore features an 18-hole disc golf course through the trees, trails, and waterfalls. Fit in some extra exercise during your visit and hike to each hole of the course while soaking in nature. The front 9 will open on June 17th, while the back 9 is under construction, but in the meantime, play the front 9 twice!
The Adventure Zone: Kids will love the Bungee Trampoline, Coleman Brook Mining, Bouncy House, and the Rock Wall! Purchase an Adventure Zone Day Pass for unlimited access to all of these fun activities.
The Spring House: Ready to luxuriate? The Spring House offers users to relax in the sauna, soak in the hot tub, and play with the kids in the splash pool. If you want to exercise while on vacation, visit the fitness center here too!
Jackson Gore Dining: The Coleman Brook Tavern is now open for the season with indoor and outdoor dining! Take in the views of the summit in the courtyard and enjoy dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays (closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays). The Lobby Bar is also now open serving quick bites and delicious drinks.
Okemo's summer activities will be open Thursday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, except for Tuesday, July 4th, and Thursday, July 6th. After September 9th, the resort will only be open on the weekends through October 9th. For more details on summer events at Okemo, please click here.
