We are welcoming spring here in Vermont and we have some upcoming events at Okemo Mountain to soak up the sunshine, perfect temperatures, and spring skiing conditions. While some may think of April as the "mud season", we still have several weeks of snow and skiing left before the real melting happens. Like any ski resort, we embrace the warming temperatures by celebrating with a classic pond skim and lots of après ski! Okemo is putting their twist on the typical pond skim and is bringing it back for the first time in several years. While you wait for the final ski day of the season and the best spring event, they are serving up Après Afternoons at Jackson Gore. Keep reading for more information!
Après Afternoons: Saturday, March 25th | 2 - 5 p.m.
Come and see our team under the tent at the best apres party on the mountain. Located in the Jackson Gore Courtyard, ski down or drive over to join the fun. Okemo is hosting White Steer as this week's live music. Our team is also hosting Vermont Face & Body in the Roundhouse for face painting! Your kids will love this free activity and can request their favorite animal. The Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster will also be open for twists and turns on the best coaster in Vermont! Grab a drink at the Coleman Brook Lobby Bar or the Last Chair. It's the best place to relax after your ski day, soak up the sun in an Adirondack chair, and toast a marshmallow over the fire pit.
Day in the Life with Ski & Ride School: Saturday, March 25 | All Day
Okemo's annual "Day in the Life of a Ski Instructor" is back! This is a great opportunity to learn what it's like to be a ski or snowboard instructor and follow them all over the mountain. They will share what it's like to be in their boots while giving you a tour throughout the trails. Don't have a ski pass? No worries! Okemo is providing tickets to those who sign up by Friday, March 24th. (Must be 15 years or older with intermediate or higher ski ability. Must have your own equipment).
Spring Fling & The Snowmelt Slush Cup: Saturday, April 8th | 12 - 1 p.m.
We are so excited for the return of Okemo's Slush Cup pond skimming event! But this year, it's more than just one event, it's an all-day apres luau party! To start, there will be live music with Sly Richard, prizes, and food trucks. Dress in your best luau-themed outfit and soar down the slope to try to make your way across the pond. If you've never witnessed a pond skim event, you won't want to miss this. After the last person makes it over the pond, the party will continue in the Jackson Gore Courtyard at Après Afternoons from 2 to 5 p.m. Live music will carry out the night with fire pits, games, and our tent will be open for your real estate needs! It's going to be the best way to wrap up the ski season so put this on your calendar today! (Slush Cup registration will be available at the Clock Tower base area and Jackson Gore base area starting at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 8th, 2023.)
