Fall Weekend of Events!

Welcome to the Okemo Valley where all eyes are on the unfolding foliage! Fall is here which means the autumnal spirit brings fall events to our area. Join us this upcoming weekend for harvest happenings at Okemo Mountain and the surrounding towns. 

 

1. Fall Into Winter: Saturday, October 8th | 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Celebrate the season with fall fun at Okemo Mountain Resort. Hosting all of your fall favorites, Okemo will be offering live music, hay rides, yard games, pumpkin painting, craft and food vendors, and a magic show! This is the perfect event to soak up all of the autumn energy and prepare for the upcoming winter season with family and friends. Open to the public, the party starts at 11 a.m. with the magic show from 3 to 4 p.m. The fall activities are for purchase at the ticket window: $5 for 1 or $17 for a bundle and hay rides are free! Activities include the following:

  • Pumpkin Painting - Paint and decorate your own pumpkin to take home
  • Corn Toss - Sink the ear of corn in the barrel for a chance to win some prizes
  • Face Painting - Hand Painted by Mona 
  • Cider Donuts - Watch the Okemo team make fresh cider donuts and receive some to enjoy
  • Pumpkin Mystery Game - Pick a section of our giant pumpkin and win a prize
  • Hay Rides - Take a ride in our tractor trailer around Jackson Gore (Free!)

Where there is a pile of leaves, there is a pile of smiles! See you there!

 

2. Mario the Magician: Saturday, October 8th | 3 to 4 p.m. 

While you and your family and friends are visiting the Fall Into Winter event at Okemo, be sure to stick around for a free performance from Mario the Maker Magician! Sponsored by William Raveis Real Estate Vermont Properties! Mario is a New York-based touring performer, author, and maker, known for his unique brand of Robot Magic. He infuses DIY electronics and robotics into his work and uses magic to inspire kids and families to make and create without limitation. Mario has appeared on Sesame Street, NBC's Universal Kids, HGTV, and live on tour opening for David Blaine's 2018 North American tour. Blaine calls Mario "the best kids’ magician in the world." Join us at this seasonal celebration and don't miss this free magic show!

 

 

 

 

3. The 31st Annual Chili Cook-Off: Saturday, October 8th | 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Warm up and chill out at the Ludlow Rotary Club's 31st Annual Chili Cook-Off! Located in the Ludlow Village, this beloved local event takes place off of Main Street at the traffic light in the center of town. Depot Street is closed off for a block party-style event showcasing local vendors and restaurants who have served up their famous chili for you to taste test. There are dozens of chili entries in all different flavors and varieties for your enjoyment and then vote for your favorite chili recipe. Admission is $15 per Adult, $5 per Child (12 & under) and includes bread, cider, ice cream, and of course chili! All proceeds support the Ludlow Rotary Community Projects. 

 

 

 

 

4. The Final Farmers Market: Friday, October 7th | 4 to 6:30 p.m. 

The farmers market season comes to a close this Friday at the Ludlow Farmers Market. We hope you can stock up on your favorite local treats and goodies from fresh fall produce to Vermont-made gifts. Located outside of the Okemo Mountain School, the market will be open from 4 to 6:30 p.m. with live music and plenty of vendors for you to explore. Thank you for shopping local and supporting our local economy!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Cider Days: Saturday, & Sunday, October 7th/8th | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  & 12 - 4 p.m.

Visit the quintessential Vermont town of Belmont in Mount Holly for the annual Cider Days festival! This two-day event is located on the Belmont Green outside of the Belmont General Store. Enjoy fresh-pressed apple cider from the 100-year-old press! You'll also enjoy the live music, Vermont crafts, artisans, and food. The kids will love the petting zoo, too! We hope to see you there.
