Green Up Day in Ludlow, Vermont!

2022 Green Up Day is May 7th!

Make a difference in our community this spring and join the Green Up Vermont initiative by getting outside and helping clean up the Okemo Valley. Green Up's mission is to promote the stewardship of our beautiful state's natural landscape and waterways. They strive to create public awareness about the health, economic, and visual benefits of a litter-free environment year-round.

Get outside with friends, family, colleagues, and kids to help make the area shine on May 7th, 2022. Pick up your free Green Up supplies from the Volunteer Town Coordinator to help clean up trash and debris around our neighborhoods, roadways, and waterways. Every volunteer makes a huge difference in our beloved environment... every piece of trash collected counts! We know its not your litter, so we thank you for the hour or more you spend making a change.

Green Up is taking action to keep volunteers safe with safety green t-shirts with reflective print. Shirts are $15 each and reusable aluminum water bottles are $12. All proceeds support Green Up Day! To pre-order your Green Up gear, click here. Remember to stay safe with a few important tips. Tie your trash bags when full, wear long pants and boots, check for ticks, and be cautious of sharp objects. Be aware of road cautions or oncoming traffic and travel with a buddy. Your safety green t-shirts, water bottles, and some sunscreen will go a long way too!

Don't forget to download the Green Up App! This will help you and your team track your route, communicate, and let the town know where the filled trash bag pickup sites are. Simply download the Green Up App from the Apple Store or Google+ or click here for details.

Vermont town coordinators track how much trash is cleaned up, how many volunteers helped, and how many abandoned tires were properly disposed of. As of April 2022, over 400 tons of trash have been collected by 22,000+ volunteers statewide, plus over 16,000 tires discarded. It's incredible what a group of community members can do together!

Although their main event is Green Up Day, this initiative works year-round raising awareness, creating special programs, and engaging the youth of Vermont. From the Green Up Mentor Program to the Reusable Shopping Bag Program, Green Up continues to make Vermont the most beautiful state it can be. Learn more about how you can make a difference here.

Thank you for helping keep our community clean and green!
