Stay bundled up. Take frequent breaks and come inside to warm up. While you are staying safe and warm, the folks at William Raveis Vermont Properties want to remind you to take some precautions for keeping your furry companions safe and warm too!

When the mercury dips, extra precautions need to be taken:
• Keep your cat inside. Felines can freeze, become lost or injured
• Thoroughly wipe off your dog's legs and stomach when he comes in out of the sleet, snow or ice. He can ingest salt, antifreeze or other potentially dangerous chemicals while licking his paws and his paw pads may also bleed from snow or encrusted ice
• Never leave your dog or cat alone in a car during cold weather. Cars act as freezers in the winter
• Puppies and elderly dogs do not tolerate the cold as well as adult dogs, limit the outdoor play time
• Make sure your furry companion has a warm place to sleep, off the floor and away from all drafts

Dogs & cats lose most of their body heat from their paw pads, ears and through respiration, consider a coat or sweater with a high collar or turtleneck with coverage from the neck to the belly. For some, a nice pair of paw booties will keep them warm and free from salt.

By taking some simple precautions, our furry friends will be as safe and comfortable as their human counterparts. At William Raveis Vermont Properties, we care about you and your pets. Stay safe out there!

Winter In Vermont Winter In VT Snow in VT snow on okemo Winter safety for pets Winter safety for pets Fri, 16 Dec 2016 21:12:06 -0500 And Since We've No Place to Go.... https://www.vtprop.com/blog/posts/2016/12/11/and-since-we-ve-no-place-to-go/
Let is snow, let it snow, let is snow…

Winter is here!
