Okemo Valley Area Winter Activities
Comedy Night January 30, 2009
Join us for our side splitting annual Comedy Night sponsored by Vermont Properties and Development, Inc. and Okemo Mountain on January 30th, 2010 at the Okemo Base Lodge! Doors open at 7:00 pm beginning with comedian, Johnny Joyce starting at 8:00 pm. At 8:30 pm, our headline comedian, Steve Sweeny will grace the stage with his Boston intuition and brazen sense of humor.

Ice Skating & Sledding
West Hill Recreational Area Outdoor ice rink and a great hill for sledding. You must provide your own skates and sleds. There is an ice rink fee. About 5 minutes from Okemo Open mid-December - end of March (weather permitting) The rink may be closed for short periods of time for rink maintenance.

The Ice House Skating Facility
Guests are sure to love Okemo's new regulation-sized hockey rink and recreational ice skating pavilion (tennis court and basketball court, surrounded by a single-lane jogging track, in summer). The connected building features skate rentals and a warming area with a gas-fueled fireplace. Antique ice harvesting tools grace the walls as a tribute to Vermont’s history. Skate rentals will be available and an ice resurfacing machine will keep the skating surface smooth and in top condition throughout the season.

The Firepit & Snow Fun Playground
Unlatch those boots and relax fireside under the stars with family and friends. This slopeside gathering spot is a great place to exchange stories of the day, meet new friends, and unwind with drinks. It's also a fun spot to sit back and watch the groomers bring the mountain to life, busily preparing the hill for another great day!
And let's not forget the Snow Fun Playground - a HUGE hit with the kids last season. Our snow fun park provides great climbing and crawling structures covered in snow for exploring and sliding.
Snow Tubing Park
This slopeside tubing park makes a perfect apres ski activity for the whole family! The 4-lane tubing park is located just off the magic carpet in the courtyard at Jackson Gore. Tubes are available for rent by the hour. Please note that children must be at least 42" to ride and you must sign a waiver to participate (children under 18 must have parental signature). Purchase tickets at the Learning Center desk at Jackson Gore.
******Please be aware that tubing is a very popular activity and there is a chance it will sell out.
Tickets are for one hour. Available for purchase after 2:30 pm.
Okemo Valley Nordic Center and Indoor Golf Training Center

Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Display

Billing’s Farm and Museum
The Billings Farm & Museum is a working dairy farm and a living museum of Vermont's rural past. The farm dates back to 1871, when owner Frederick Billings, a lawyer, railroad entrepreneur, and philanthropist began importing cows from the Isle of Jersey. His farm prospered, and today, is still one of the finest Jersey farms in America and a working dairy, and a museum dedicated to telling the story of Vermont's rural heritage. Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts
Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts is a 13,000 sq. ft. professional multi-arts facility owned and operated by the Society of Vermont Artists and Craftsmen, Inc. a non-profit located in Ludlow, Vermont. The School consists of ten classrooms in a renovated historic Vermont Farm setting, and a Art and
Craft Shoppe open during the summer months.

VINS Nature Center Located just west of Quechee Gorge on Route 4. The VINS Nature Center features over 30 live birds of prey native to Vermont, and is considered to be one of the most impressive collections of live raptors in North America. You'll find a beautiful winding nature trail that leads to the Ottauquechee River, featuring a bird blind, a vernal pool and several other natural points of interest. Programs such as Predators of the Sky and Fledgling Corner are both educational and entertaining.
